Hi there,

I have been trying to get my thyroid to work, but I'm having a hard time getting it to work well for my son.

He is in his mid-40s, and we're all over the board with him. He was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in the late 90s with his father being overweight and his mother being obese. He has a thyroid (which he believes is normal) and is having thyroid googling for it. He has been taking Synthroid since he was in his early 30s. He is on a low dose of a synthetic thyroid hormone that works in the body and he doesn't seem to know how to stop taking it. He's told by my pharmacist to take it every day (it takes up to 4 weeks) and have it on the 'off-label' label. He also has a "off-label" label on his regular label with a little white pill on one side and a "off-label" label with a pink pill on the other side.

In addition, I've been on a low dose of Synthroid for several years (I had a bone marrow transplant and had been on the dose for the past four years) and I haven't been on it for a month now.

My doctor says that it will take several months for the thyroid to take full effect. I'm a bit wary of doing this, but I'm not sure why I'm still having to take the thyroid hormone. I've been taking it for a few years and I'm starting to see results.

I haven't tried any other medications for hypothyroidism, and I haven't tried any over the counter thyroid hormone supplements. The only thing that is going to help is to get your blood tested and get the blood work done.

Any tips? I know my family members are aware, but I'm not sure why my son is having such a hard time.

Thanks in advance

Sue

Hi,

I have been trying to get my thyroid to work and I'm not seeing a lot with my son. He's in his mid-40s and the thyroid is doing good. I'm not sure why his doctor has switched him to Synthroid.

I am also not sure why it is causing him to do well with Synthroid. My doctor told me to try Armour and my sister found out that Armour is a different thing. I'm on Armour and it has been the best for me.

I would like to know if my son is on a different medication that has helped him to get the thyroid to work well.

I am sure that would help, but I'm still unsure.

Thanks in advance for any help. I will definitely try to find a different medication to help him to get the thyroid to work better. If any of you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I was considering taking Armour for my son and I was unsure if the Armour was working well enough for him to be able to get the thyroid to work well. The doctor did say that it would take a few months to see the full effect and it was working well. I think that the thyroid was working well, but he was still unsure how he was doing it. He told me he wasn't doing well with the Armour and I thought it was working well.

Does anyone have any tips on the matter?

Thanks
